About

What exterior house painting covers

Exterior house painting renews the outside finish of a home or commercial property. The scope may include siding, trim, doors, garage doors, and other exterior elements named in the agreement. The work starts with a free consultation and in-home meeting. We discuss color preferences, visible damage, access, and the areas you want painted. Then we protect nearby property and prepare the surfaces before applying paint. Preparation can include removing loose paint, addressing surface defects, and preparing walls or millwork. We follow PDCA standards for surface preparation and protection. The right scope depends on the substrate, existing finish, repairs, and the amount of exterior detail. Our main recommendation is to settle the surface condition before choosing colors. A fresh color cannot correct loose coating, open joints, or damaged material beneath it. We explain those findings before the agreement is finalized.

The team at 365 did a great job painting our house. They painted the full exterior of our house, including all the trim, front door, and garage doors. Their color matching was spot on, and the front door and porch trim finish is perfectly smooth. They even did a nice job with caulking as well.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

Questions customers ask about exterior house painting

Who provides exterior house painting in Issaquah?

Thomas J. Painting provides exterior house painting for residential and commercial properties in Issaquah, Sammamish, and surrounding communities. We begin with a free consultation and in-home meeting. The discussion covers your goals, color preferences, requested surfaces, and visible repairs. We then develop an agreement that sets the work scope before preparation and painting begin.

What factors in your requirements change the price of painting a house exterior?

Exterior painting cost depends on surface condition, the areas included, access, repairs, preparation, and the coating scope. Siding, trim, doors, and garage doors can require different preparation. We review those details during the in-home consultation and provide a clearly scoped estimate before work begins. That estimate reflects your property and requested work, not a generic amount.

What does an exterior painting estimate include?

An exterior painting estimate identifies the requested surfaces, preparation, protection, repairs, painting, and cleanup included in the work.

  • We review siding, trim, doors, and other exterior areas.
  • We note preparation and related carpentry needs.
  • We explain the work before developing the agreement.

This gives you a defined scope to review before painting starts.

Can you paint trim and garage doors with the siding?

Yes, trim and garage doors can be included when the agreement covers those surfaces. Exterior surfaces may need different preparation because their condition and detail vary. We review each requested area during the in-home meeting, then identify the included surfaces and related preparation in the project scope.

How should I prepare my property before exterior painting?

Property preparation starts with clearing outdoor items from the walls and trim included in the project.

  1. Move furniture, planters, and decorations away from work areas.
  2. Point out peeling paint, damaged wood, and open joints.
  3. Share color preferences before the scope is finalized.

We protect nearby areas during preparation and painting, so clear access helps the crew work within the agreed plan.

Should I hire one company for exterior painting and related carpentry?

One company can coordinate exterior painting and related carpentry when both services fit the agreed scope. Damaged trim or other surface repairs need attention before coating. We review those conditions during the consultation and explain which carpentry work belongs in the agreement. That approach keeps surface repair and painting decisions connected.

What happens if the old paint is loose or the wood is damaged?

Loose paint and damaged wood require surface review before new paint is applied. We identify areas that need removal, preparation, or related carpentry, then explain those needs before the agreement is set. Covering unstable material can affect the finished coating, so our process addresses the surface condition first.

Scenarios

When Customers Call Us About Exterior House Painting

1

Peeling Paint On Exterior Trim

Peeling trim can expose the material below and make a new coat fail early. The key question is whether loose paint, damaged wood, or open joints caused the problem. We inspect the trim, explain the preparation and repair scope, then include those steps in the agreement before painting begins.

2

Faded Siding And Worn Doors

Faded siding and worn doors can make the whole property look uneven, even when the surfaces remain sound. Color choice matters, but the existing finish still needs review before coating. We discuss the areas you want changed during an in-home consultation and separate surface preparation from the painting scope.

3

Exterior Work For A Commercial Property

A commercial property may need exterior painting planned around entrances, trim, and shared work areas. The agreement should identify the surfaces, protection needs, and cleanup expectations before work starts. We review those details with the property owner or manager and build the exterior scope around the site.

Cabinet PaintingOutdated cabinets can make a kitchen feel tired, even when the layout works well. We prepare doors, drawer fronts, and cabinet boxes with degreasing, sanding, and bonding primer before applying a smooth finish.
Cool Roof Coating ApplicationA weathered roof surface may need renewed protection without immediate replacement. We prepare compatible roofing materials and apply elastomeric cool roof coating evenly across the surface, producing a sealed, reflective finish.
CarpenterHomeowners with damaged trim or door casings need more than a color change. We repair baseboards, window trim, and interior woodwork before priming and painting, leaving clean lines and sound surfaces throughout the property.
ContractorA well-managed painting project keeps repairs, preparation, and cleanup from becoming your problem. We coordinate the agreement, protect floors with paper or plastic, and finish with a walkthrough led by the paint crew.
Deck builderA worn deck can make outdoor space feel unsafe and unfinished. We build or repair deck boards, railings, and stair stringers, creating a solid structure ready for paint or stain.
Paint stripping serviceOld paint can hide peeling layers, rough edges, and damaged surfaces. Paint stripping removes failing coatings with scrapers, sanding, and suitable chemical strippers, leaving woodwork ready for proper repair and primer.
