Exterior House Painting for Clyde Hill properties

Exterior house painting refreshes siding, trim, doors, garage doors, and other exposed surfaces. This page focuses on coating choices for homes and properties where weather exposure, fading, peeling, or surface moisture shape the work plan.

Acrylic paint suits many exterior surfaces, while elastomeric coating can help bridge small surface movement when the substrate fits. Water repellents and UV protection also matter, but no coating replaces sound preparation. We inspect the surface first, then explain which repairs and finish choices belong in the agreement.

  • Check siding, trim, doors, and other painted surfaces for peeling, chalking, cracks, and exposed wood.
  • Review whether repairs or related carpentry work should happen before painting.
  • Match the coating plan to the surface, exposure, and desired finish.
  • Confirm protection for floors, landscaping, fixtures, and nearby work areas.
  • Plan a final walkthrough and inspection with the lead paint crew member.

What you get from our exterior painting process

A coating plan tied to the surface

Surface condition, old paint, trim, and exposure guide the coating discussion. We do not treat every exterior as the same job.

Preparation before visible finish work

Peeling paint, gaps, and damaged areas need attention before new paint goes on. Our team prepares walls and millwork in accordance with PDCA standards.

A clear review at completion

The lead paint crew member walks through the finished work with you and completes a final inspection.

When exterior painting is the wrong job

Painting is not the right first step when the surface needs major replacement or repair beyond the agreed carpentry scope. We discuss that limit during the consultation.

Process

How we complete exterior house painting

1

Discuss the property and finish goals

We meet in the home to discuss the exterior, color preferences, repairs, and ideas for the project.

2

Inspect surfaces and define repairs

We review siding, trim, doors, old paint, joints, and damaged areas before the work agreement is developed.

3

Prepare and protect the work area

Our crew prepares walls and millwork under PDCA standards and uses floor paper, plastic, or carpet coverings where needed.

4

Apply the agreed exterior coating

We paint the prepared surfaces with the selected coating and complete related carpentry work included in the agreement.

5

Walk through the finished work

The lead paint crew member reviews the completed work with you during the final inspection.

What exterior painting changes for your property

A suitable exterior coating helps protect prepared surfaces from sun, moisture, and normal exposure.

Fresh color can improve the appearance of siding, trim, doors, and other visible features.

Careful preparation helps the finish bond to the surface and supports clean, finished results.

Clear scope decisions help you separate painting work from carpentry repairs before the project starts.

Protected work areas keep paint, dust, and repair debris managed during the job.

The team at 365 did a great job painting our house. They painted the full exterior of our house, including all the trim, front door, and garage doors. Their color matching was spot on, and the front door and porch trim finish is perfectly smooth. They even did a nice job with caulking as well.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

Questions about exterior house painting

For Exterior House Painting, what coatings protect exterior paint from weather?

Mildew resistance, acrylic paint, elastomeric coating, UV protection, and water repellents all affect exterior coating choices.

We review:

  • The existing paint and substrate
  • Surface moisture and visible wear
  • Trim, joints, doors, and exposed wood

Our consultation connects those findings to the coating plan. No finish can correct damaged material, so repairs remain part of the scope when needed.

How do you match the coating to a home's exterior layout?

The property layout guides which surfaces we prepare, protect, repair, and paint. We review siding, trim, doors, garage doors, roof edges, fixtures, and nearby work areas during the in-home meeting. Large or separated surfaces may need different preparation details. The agreement identifies the areas included, so you know what the project covers before painting starts.

Which exterior conditions change the work plan?

Peeling paint, exposed wood, cracks, chalking, surface moisture, and damaged trim can change the work plan. We inspect each affected area before choosing repairs or coatings. Related carpentry work may need to happen before paint application. The free consultation gives you a written scope for the agreed work, including preparation and protection needs.

What should I do before exterior painting starts?

Property owners should clear access to exterior walls, trim, doors, and fixtures before painting begins.
  • Move outdoor items away from the work areas.
  • Identify gates, access points, and property concerns.
  • Discuss landscaping or fixtures that need protection.
  • Confirm the surfaces and repairs in the agreement.

We then protect agreed work areas with suitable coverings.

Why does surface preparation matter before new paint?

Surface preparation helps new paint bond to sound material and supports a clean finish. We address peeling paint, damaged areas, gaps, and other agreed repairs before applying the coating. Walls and millwork are prepared in accordance with PDCA standards. Skipping needed preparation can leave old failures beneath the new finish, so we review the surface first.
