Contractor planning for renovation painting in Auburn

This page serves property owners who need painting to fit inside a wider renovation plan. The work may include interior walls, exterior surfaces, millwork, cabinets, doors, trim, or related carpentry.

The key decision is whether the painting scope depends on other trades. Design plans, material orders, and access details help set the right sequence. We discuss the work during a free consultation and in-home meeting before developing an agreement.

Painting isn't the right job for structural construction or unrelated building systems. When the scope includes surfaces we can prepare, paint, refinish, or repair, we set out the work clearly and review it with you.

  • Confirm which rooms, exterior surfaces, cabinets, doors, and trim belong in the work scope.
  • Note repairs or carpentry that must happen before primer and paint.
  • Share design plans, color ideas, access limits, and material preferences.
  • Plan furniture, floor, and walkway protection before interior work starts.
  • Set a final walkthrough with the lead paint crew member.

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

Questions customers ask about renovation painting

What should I confirm before agreeing to the painting work?

The agreement should identify every room, surface, repair, cabinet area, finish, and cleanup task included. Access limits and protection needs also affect the work plan. We review these points during the in-home meeting so the scope matches your goals. Color choices and material preferences should be settled before painting begins.

Which site conditions can change the renovation work plan?

Surface damage, unfinished carpentry, limited access, furniture placement, and other active trades can change the work plan. Wall and millwork condition affect preparation before paint application. Cabinet doors and trim also need review when refinishing is part of the scope. We explain the needed sequence during the consultation and agreement process.

Why does surface preparation matter before painting?

Surface preparation helps paint adhere to walls, trim, and millwork and supports a clean finish. We check the surfaces, address needed repairs, and protect nearby floors and furnishings before applying paint. The work follows PDCA standards for the preparation of walls and millwork. The final walkthrough then reviews the completed areas.

What can change the quote for cabinet painting?

Cabinet condition, door and drawer details, repairs, refacing needs, finish choices, and access can change the quote. The consultation gives us a chance to review those parts in person. We also discuss nearby walls, trim, and protection because cabinet work may affect the surrounding paint scope. The agreement records the selected work.

When should painting happen during a renovation?

Painting should follow repairs and carpentry that could mark or damage finished surfaces. Trade scheduling helps place wall preparation, cabinet work, and finish coats in a sensible order. We review the planned sequence with you during the in-home meeting. The right point depends on the agreed scope and the condition of each surface.

Who provides the painting and related carpentry?

Thomas J. Painting provides the painting, cabinet work, refacing, and related carpentry included in the agreement. Our crew prepares surfaces, protects work areas, applies the selected finishes, and cleans the site. A final inspection with the lead paint crew member gives you a chance to review the completed work.
