Tailored Solutions for Burien

Popcorn ceiling removal focuses on the texture, the ceiling surface below it, and the room around it. We remove the existing finish, check for surface damage, and prepare the ceiling for the next agreed coating or finish.

The buyer's main decision is whether the ceiling needs removal only or removal plus surface repair. Dry scraping can expose gouges, loose areas, or uneven sections that need attention before painting. A free consultation gives us time to review the room, hear your goals, and develop an agreement for the work.

This page serves customers who want a clear scope for ceiling texture removal, not a general interior painting plan. We also handle related carpentry work when the project calls for it.

  • Confirm whether the existing texture covers sound drywall.
  • Plan protection for floors, walls, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Identify gouges or loose areas that need surface repair.
  • Separate texture removal from later ceiling painting.
  • Review the finished ceiling during the final walkthrough.

Service Overview

Popcorn ceiling removal is a surface renovation service that removes textured ceiling material and prepares the ceiling for a new finish.

  • The work differs from ordinary ceiling painting because texture must come off before repairs, sanding, priming, or finish paint.
  • Thomas J. Painting provides this service in Burien for residential and commercial properties.

What a smoother ceiling changes for the room

Removing the texture creates a cleaner base for a new ceiling finish.

Surface preparation helps paint follow the ceiling instead of hiding loose or damaged areas.

Room protection limits dust and debris on floors, trim, fixtures, and furnishings.

A defined repair scope helps you decide whether the ceiling needs more than texture removal.

The final walkthrough gives you a chance to review the completed ceiling with our lead paint crew member.

How we approach ceiling texture removal

Surface condition guides the scope

The ceiling surface decides whether we can move from removal into preparation or need added repairs. This service is the wrong job when the main need is unrelated structural work that falls outside the agreed painting and carpentry scope.

Room protection comes before scraping

We cover floors, walls, fixtures, and nearby furnishings before dry scraping begins. That setup keeps dust and loosened texture contained as work moves across the ceiling.

A walkthrough closes the work

Our lead paint crew member joins the final walkthrough and inspection. We review the finished area with you before the project is considered complete.

Ceiling work choices after texture removal

These options separate the work needed for texture removal from the finish that follows.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

365 Painting Solutions did an excellent job on painting the entire interior of our house. The whole crew is so helpful and the process was so easy. We can't say enough about how thrilled we are with the end result. Jeff and Lorena did a great job helping us pick the perfect color! Efrain and the crew were a pleasure to have in the house and the careful workmanship was amazing.

Questions about removing popcorn ceiling texture

How does loose drywall change the removal plan?

Loose drywall changes the scope when the surface needs repair before the next finish. We check whether the area can be prepared after texture removal or needs added carpentry work. The consultation gives us a chance to review the ceiling, discuss your goals, and set the work agreement around its actual condition.

What should I do before the crew starts inside?

Room access and clear work areas help us protect your property before scraping begins. Please discuss furniture, wall items, fixtures, and access during the in-home meeting. We plan floor paper, plastic, or carpet coverings around the room, then keep the area organized while texture and loose debris are removed.

Which part of the job changes the price most?

Ceiling condition usually changes the project scope more than texture removal alone. Gouges, loose sections, difficult access, protection needs, and added surface preparation all affect the work discussed in the agreement. We review those factors during a free consultation and provide a quote based on the ceiling and room conditions.

When is removal the wrong service for a ceiling?

Removal is the wrong fit when the main problem falls outside ceiling texture and related painting or carpentry work. Structural concerns, major damage, or another trade's repair need separate review before texture work proceeds. We can discuss the visible condition during the consultation and explain which work belongs in the project scope.

Why does the ceiling look uneven after scraping?

An uneven ceiling often shows areas that the old texture had hidden. Dry scraping can expose dips, gouges, or patch marks that need surface preparation before paint. We review the exposed ceiling, explain the repair steps included in the agreement, and continue toward the selected finish only after the surface is ready.
